We recently bought our first dream home and are planning to re-do some parts of the house to my liking. There are a number of things on our to-do list, but we decided to focus on the kitchen. The first priority is the kitchen counter. After spending a fair amount of time doing research, we’ve pretty much narrow down the material and color of the counter. That seems like a fairly easy part. However, when it comes to backsplash, the options are a little overwhelming.
Our current kitchen backsplash is basically nothing other than an old fashioned pain. I can tell you it is a tough job when you try to clean the water spots and dark stains out of it. I’ve tried all sorts of cleaning material and always end up scraping the pain off. I need a new backsplash for our kitchen.
One of the option is wallpaper. It seems like a easy solution for providing a layer of protection to the wall. However, it is stain easily and wear down over time. Plus, wallpaper is a bit out of date, don’t you think? Tile is a popular backsplash choice. But the spills and splatters are harder to clean up. All the grout joints may absorb water and stains and cause discoloration. Another option is to go for a high end stainless steel backsplash. It is the newest trend for modern kitchen but it could be pricy. Plus, water spots and fingerprints will still make the taintless steel backsplash look dirty and messy.
After some more research and comparison, we’ve found faux tin backsplash roll as an alternative option. Faux tin backsplash won’t cost a fortune and still provides a great design look.
